Helpful Hints to increase your credit scoring with lenders:

1. Close your seldom used credit card accounts.

2. Keep one of your oldest credit card accounts active to show a lengthy stable credit history.

3. Don't allow stores to run a credit check for a new credit card account while shopping for furniture or appliances for your new home.

4. Don't order or purchase any furniture or appliances on credit (even deferred billing or layaway) until you have CLOSED on your new home loan.

5. Pay off and close all existing accounts with finance companies (they detract from your credit score).

6. Pay all credit card bills on time (even if that means deferring utility bills).

7. Don't apply for any new credit cards or store credit.

8. Refuse increases in your credit card limits if they seem high in relation to your income.
